Wear an Heirloom Wedding Band – There’s nothing
more beautiful than to accept your grandmother’s wedding band to bless your
marriage. Her long marriage was exemplary, and there’s magic in that ring. It’s
a great remembrance of your heritage, and her long love for her husband. Also,
these bands can be passed down to your granddaughter.
-
Shop Antique Stores – At a fraction of the cost
of a new ring, you can find gorgeous, hand-crafted jewelry from days past.
Antique artistry holds a lot of wonderful history. Imagine finding a gold or
silver band with old world markings; imagine the world the bride lived in, the
magic of her life! Now you share that legacy. Of course, any jewelry can be
altered by a professional to reflect your size and preferences.
-
Create new wedding/engagement bands from old
jewelry – Maybe your grandmother passed down some diamond earrings to you. You
can have one of those stones re-set into your new engagement ring, so you carry
her blessings your whole life. Also, it’s MUCH less expensive than buying a new
diamond engagement ring! If you really want to be unique, find some ancient
rings on the internet, print the pictures, mine stones from old jewelry, and
find an artist/smith to combine them to make beautiful art!
-
Finally, you can engrave a special message in
the ring (Remember “Lord of the Rings”?). Words like “Forever Yours” will
always remind you of the love you share. I was smart enough to have my Wedding
Date engraved on the inside of mine (August 9)! Every Man should consider this!
